Percy Thomson Meadows Announces CSA Membership Program

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program benefits both consumers and farmers. CSA gives consumers the option to purchase Percy Thomson Meadows produce, eggs, and meats at a discounted price.

Percy Thomson Meadows, a family-owned, all-natural farm in western Connecticut, announced today a new and convenient way for consumers to purchase fresh produce and grass-fed meats. A pre-paid membership program called Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) gives consumers the option to purchase Percy Thomson Meadows produce, eggs, and meats at a discounted price.

"CSA is a win-win for both consumers and farmers," said Dana Assard, an owner of Percy Thomson Meadows. "It gives customers the opportunity to buy high-quality, healthy food at discount prices from a nearby and familiar supplier. And it lets us, the farmers, better plan for the needs of our customers. By becoming a CSA member, you're making an conscious effort to encourage agricultural growth in Connecticut and support local farmers."

Percy Thomson Meadows CSA members will pre-pay for a 20-week season that runs from June 4 to October 15 of each calendar year. Members will decide how much they want to pre-pay, based on the amount of produce and meats they expect to purchase over the 20-week period. Members may send a check to Percy Thomson Meadows, LLC, or pay via PayPal by April 30. The sooner the payment is received, the greater the discount. Customers who pay after April 30 will not receive a discount.

"Being a CSA member not only saves you money, it's also an easier way to shop," Assard said. "It's like having a prepaid account with us. You're not required to spend a certain amount each week or month. Just come in at your convenience, choose from our variety of all-natural, grass-fed meats, free-range eggs, and fresh produce, and we'll deduct that day's purchases from your season's balance."

CSA membership is valid the Percy Thomson Meadows farm store, located at 78 Thomson Road Bethlehem, CT, or at any market selling Percy Thomson Meadows products. All CSA funds must be used by the end of the 20-week period; balances will not carry over to the following year.
