The Paulding County Republican Party is now accepting submissions for it's annual $500 college scholarship essay contest: The Paulding County GOP Young Conservative Scholar Award.

The Paulding County Republican Party is now accepting submissions for it's annual $500 college scholarship essay contest: The Paulding County GOP Young Conservative Scholar Award.

To apply for the scholarship, students are required to submit a 350 to 500 word essay on a provide topic. The recipient of the Paulding County GOP Young Conservative Scholar Award will be selected based on the strength of their essay, with additional consideration given to GPA, extracurricular activities and volunteer work.

This year's Young Conservative Scholar Award essay question is: The first ten amendments to the United States Constitution are collectively referred to as the Bill of Rights. Of these ten rights, which do you believe offers the most important protection of individual liberty and personal freedom?

The Paulding County GOP Young Conservative Scholar Award is being made possible through generous donations from State Senator Bill Hamrick, State Senator Bill Heath, State Representative Howard Maxwell, Post 1 Commissioner Larry Ragsdale, Post 3 County Commissioner Tommie Graham, Paulding Resident Tom Milanese, and Paulding County Republican Party Chairman Joseph Gullett.
