Patients at San Jose Dispensary Send 100 Students to Class With New Backpacks & School Supplies
With support from the local community and generous donations from its patients, The Purple Lotus Patient Center is proud to announce 100 underprivileged students will be arriving to school this year with brand new backpacks, full with a complete set of school supplies.
San Jose, CA, August 17, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Patients at the Purple Lotus Patient Center have gone above and beyond good-will by donating enough to send 100 San Jose students into the new school year with brand new backpacks & a full set of school supplies. According to City-Data.com, 16.2% of children in San Jose are living below poverty lines. School supplies are difficult to obtain when parents are struggling to provide the basic essentials such as food, shelter and clothing for their family. This often results in children falling behind in school and ultimately dropping out due to the lack of necessary supplies to be successful.
Purple Lotus Patient Center is committed to the fight against poverty. On Tuesday, August 16, 2016, Purple Lotus Patient Center donated 100 backpacks filled with desperately needed school supplies. The backpacks will be distributed to low-income children throughout the San Jose area by CITYTEAM.
