Packington Free Range Celebrate Summer with BBQ Chicken Competition

Packington Free Range is asking fans to share their favourite BBQ chicken recipes on Facebook for the chance to win a free range barbecue box.

As summer approaches and the weather improves, foodies throughout the UK will be dusting off their barbecues to enjoy a season of cooking and eating outdoors. In celebration of this, fourth generation family farm Packington Free Range are running a barbecue competition on their Facebook page.

Packington Free Range (http://www.facebook.com/PackingtonFreeRange) has asked UK fans of their Facebook page to share their original BBQ chicken recipes, with a picture if available. The winner will receive a free range BBQ box worth £30 and the chance to have their recipe made into an official recipe card for distribution in Packington Free Range's stockists, including butchers and farm shops.

The competition has already had several entries including 'Curried BBQ chicken' and 'Sweet and Spicy chicken kebabs' and a recipe for more unusual'beer can chicken'. Packington are looking for original recipes that can be barbecued and are simple enough for
people to recreate at home using free range chicken.

The winning entry will join a host of other recipes on their website that show customers how to make the most of Packington Free Range pork and chicken. The winning entry will be announced on Packington's Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/PackingtonFreeRange) and Packington will then liaise with the winner for the full details of the winning recipe.

The farm, run by Brothers Alec and Rob Mercer, prides itself on rearing chicken 'how it used to taste -full of flavour, succulent and tasty. They place the highest importance on the welfare of their chicken, which has been recognised by celebrity chefs The Hairy Bikers who have described Packington chickens as "some of the happiest in Britain!"
