Oyster Dome, Inc. Launches ZooMyGosh.com

Oyster Dome, Inc., a small tech startup in Bellingham, WA, has launched ZooMyGosh.com. ZooMyGosh is a virtual world for children that combines entertainment value and educational content for a unique online experience.

Bellingham, WA - Oyster Dome, Inc. is proud to announce the launch of ZooMyGosh, an online virtual world for children. Originally conceived in 2007, ZooMyGosh originated from the idea that an online world could combine entertainment value and educational content to create an experience unlike any other in the virtual world category. Work on art design and schoolhouse content commenced in 2008. In 2009, Oyster Dome contracted with Switch Development, a Seattle web development company, to develop the game software.

Today, ZooMyGosh.com offers a fully functional, massively multiplayer online (MMO) environment, a host of interactive Flash games, and a schoolhouse featuring hundreds of educational lessons. Users can access many site features with a free account, and can access premium subscriber features for a nominal monthly charge.

The MMO environment of ZooMyGosh allows players to chat and make "buddies" with, and play games against, fellow players. Each user has a virtual house, where he or she can keep collected items and awards. By playing games and taking schoolhouse lessons, users collect "clams," the ZooMyGosh currency. Clams are used to purchase avatar clothing items and house accessories for one's virtual house. ZooMyGosh offers a selection of sports, puzzle and adventure games that will entertain kids and parents alike!

The ZooMyGosh schoolhouse contains over one thousand interactive lessons, all based on U.S. curriculum. Children can select from math, science, social studies and language arts lessons for grades one through six. Mr. Owly, the friendly ZooMyGosh schoolhouse headmaster, helps children through the schoolhouse. New lessons are added to the schoolhouse regularly.

Player safety is the number one concern for Oyster Dome, and a number of features keep players safe from obscene or harmful material. ZooMyGosh employs a state-of-the-art chat filtering system that automatically filters out any obscene, racist or otherwise inappropriate language. Players can contact the "ZIA," ZooMyGosh's player safety department, to report any misbehaving players. Player/moderators move throughout the game, monitoring player behavior and chats.

ZooMyGosh was developed to provide a safe and friendly environment that will engage and challenge young minds. ZooMyGosh gives children a unique opportunity to learn, grow, socialize and have fun. To learn more and to create a free account, go to www.ZooMyGosh.com.
