Orlando, Florida Real Estate Radio Show Vows to Help One Million Homeowners
Online, September 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - (Kissimmee, FL) - Orlando Big 810 AM radio listeners have taken notice of a new show, the Central Florida Real Estate Talk Show, hosted by Kissimmee-based realtor Paul Antonelli.
Antonelli created the radio show, which began airing on Saturday, Aug. 28, with a promise to assist one million families get out of their underwater mortgages by providing tips for short selling the properties compromising their credit.
Antonelli and a host of experts are hosting the Central Florida Real Estate Radio Show have already answered dozens of question during the first three shows and anticipate more buzz catching on in the coming weeks. Co-hosts include Wells Fargo mortgage broker Colleen Mitchell and foreclosure attorney Charles Castellon.
Known as "that short sale guy", Antonelli has become a premiere expert in the Orlando area for handling short sales primarily for homeowners who anticipate potentially going to foreclosure. In Florida, the average time period it takes a bank to complete a foreclosure is currently averaging 518 days, while other states are averaging 320 days to foreclosure. This means homeowners only partially paying on a mortgage could offer to pay off an underwater mortgage for less, using Antonelli's radio show tips, therefore escaping foreclosure and saving the owner's credit score.
"So many agents out there tell people in underwater mortgages that either a short sale won't work, because they don't know how to do them and tell homeowners to walk away and let the bank foreclose," Antonelli explained.
"The Central Florida Real Estate Show's only goal is to make sure people know the ins and outs of the short sale process, because one wrong move can turn a potential sale into a foreclosure instead, potentially costing the seller thousands of dollars."
Orlando's real estate market remains strong, but like many areas the value of homes continues to fall. For example, from June to July of this year the average sales price of homes fell nearly 4.5 percent. In July 2010, there were 2,387 sales with only 740 of those sales being traditional or by the owner. During that same month, 69 percent of all real estate sales were for bank-owned and short sale listed properties in the Orlando market.
The radio show's logo portrays Antonelli as a superhero realtor to illustrate the realtor's passion to help save families. Some may view Antonelli's approach as over the top, but Antonelli said he is not afraid to answer those critics.
"The fact is anyone that can help families in trouble right now is a hero whether that's me or someone else," Antonelli explained. "I just want to help people and word is quickly spreading about our radio show."
The Big 810 AM Radio Station is one of few in the country that allows local experts to become radio experts and boasts a long line up of talk shows.
