Orange County Interior Designer Samia Verbist Offers Ambitious Remodel Projects To Homeowners

"When I first saw the kitchen in this California home, it was open through a narrow doorway to the formal dining room at one end but closed off from the adjacent family room," says Verbist.
This first look at the space, which needed much improvement, gave her the spark of an idea that encapsulates many of her interior design projects in Orange County.
While the kitchen and surrounding space in the luxury Orange County home technically fit together, the flow was off-kilter, according to Verbist.
Changing The Structure
"To create a luxury kitchen, our first task was to remove the wall separating the kitchen from the family room," says Verbist.
She and her team closed the doorway to the adjoining dining room, giving more walls to work with.
"These structural changes gave us so much more space - both horizontal and vertical - and provided a cohesive look," says Verbist.
Outfitting The New Kitchen
Then the time came for tweaking finer details, like appliances. Outfitting the kitchen with an impressive range, large fridge, and other odds and ends to bring it together.
Perhaps the standout element of the kitchen was the new addition of the home bar.
"Once the kitchen and family room had been reworked into an open concept, a nook across from the kitchen begged for a purpose. It was the perfect spot for a home bar," explains Verbist.
Verbist clung to this idea and installed a home bar that turned a previously unremarkable space into a social hub. This design is indicative of the hard work and creative insight Verbist brings to her designs.
