Orange County Choppers Founder Paul Teutul Sr. Wants to Build You the Bike of Your Dreams
LEWES, Del., June 15, 2021 (Newswire.com) - The Dream Chopperâ„¢ competition returns in its second year, giving one winner the chance to design their dream bike alongside Paul Teutul Sr. and appear on an upcoming episode of "Orange County Choppers." Bikers, riders, and weekend warriors can register to compete in the online voting competition at www.dreamchopper.com. For those interested in voting and showing their support for a favorite rider, voting will open on July 12, 2021.
Last year's winner, Joe Rasulo, a U.S. Army veteran and former detective, will receive his custom bike on June 26 at the new Orange County Choppers location in Clearwater, Florida. Upon meeting Paul Teutul Sr. for the first time, Joe said, "When I signed up for Dream Chopper, I never imagined in a million years I'd be sitting here today."
The Dream Chopper competition also functions as a cause-based marketing campaign benefiting the Hudson Valley SPCA, a no-kill animal sanctuary that is near and dear to the hearts of Paul Teutul Sr. and his partner Joan Kay, both of whom sit on the board for the organization. The nonprofit receives funding solely from donation contributions. Last year, the competition contributed $269,000 from net proceeds to the organization.
"The last donation literally saved the shelter. With COVID, we were unable to do the five big fundraisers we do every year, and donations were down by 40%. Our goal for this upcoming year is to have a veterinary clinic built onto our shelter so we can assist our community in having access to affordable healthcare for their pets. The Hudson Valley SPCA has been in existence since the late 1800s, and we plan on making sure it is still here 100 years from now," said Joan Kay, CEO of Orange County Choppers and president of HVSPCA.
