Online, December 18, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Cafe and Coffee Roasting Business in Albany, NY, Develops Online Coffee Bean Shop
An upstate New York cafe that's been a familiar fixture in the state's Capital Region since 1976 has unveiled a new coffee website and e-commerce store that sells coffee beans roasted on the premises. While other independently owned coffee shops have been forced out of business by the unrelenting expansion of multi-billion dollar coffee shop chains, The Daily Grind has cultivated a loyal following for the past 36 years and continues to attract new customers to its two locations in Albany and Troy.
The owners of the Daily Grind, Lee and Barrye Cohen, are now taking steps to strengthen their presence in the global Internet marketplace. In mid-2012, the brother and sister partners teamed up with Tech Valley Webs, a web design company in East Greenbush, NY, to create a captivating Web site and advanced e-commerce store. In addition to incorporating a secure ordering system into the online coffee shop, it also features a photo slide show of the coffee roasting process that takes place at the store and images of the cafe and coffee bean retail shop. The cafe's food menu can also be downloaded as a PDF file.
Kate Letzelter, co-owner of Tech Valley Webs, said the concept for the new coffee website has been months in the development and has brought together the talents of e-commerce experts, web designers, programmers, and content writers. "We believe that the Daily Grind's new website will do a more effective job of showcasing the unique character of the Daily Grind and make more people aware of its presence. It will provide an enjoyable experience for site visitors and make buying world class coffee very easy-a few clicks and fresh-roasted coffee is on its way to your home." The web address of the Daily Grind's is http://dailygrind.com.
The Daily Grind, a family-owned and -operated business that's been serving coffee since Gerald Ford was U.S. president, is one of the few coffee shops between Manhattan and Montreal to roast its own coffee beans on the premises. In 1980, the coffee shop moved to its current location at 204 Lark Street in Albany, and opened a second cafe in 1984 at 46 Third Street in Troy, NY. Online since November 1996, the Daily Grind was one of the first coffee retailers and independently owned cafes to establish a commercial presence on the Internet. The Daily Grind's new professionally designed online coffee shop offers coffee for sale, fresh roasted coffee beans, blended teas, and coffee machines.
