On the Fly Marketing Benefits From Business Travel

On The Fly Marketing's Director of Operations discussed a recent conference and how it benefitted her team. She also offered some tips for making business travel a bit less stressful.

Associates at On The Fly Marketing travel to a range of industry gatherings and events. Terra, the Director of Operations, remarked, “I think it is essential to broaden your horizons both personally and professionally. As far as we’re concerned here at On The Fly Marketing, business trips provide the best opportunities for both types of development. I certainly found that to be the case at a recent conference I attended with three of our firm’s top performers.”

Terra brought Kati, Alexis, and Turan along with her to the conference. She explained, “Each of these individuals has been with On The Fly Marketing for only a short time, but they are already achieving big things. They have recently been promoted into leadership roles. Venturing to industry events is an ideal way to continue building acumen and big-picture outlook. I know they made valuable new contacts at the conference and got to meet local business owners and talk to them about their growth. Those who are the most consistent in their work get to attend these events because we know they’ll get the most out of them. They’ll participate and work to build their own networks.”

"We try to educate our associates the best we can and help them make the most of every trip,"

Terra, Director of Operations

The Director believes the benefits of professional conferences are multifaceted. She commented, “When you’re around so many other talented people from your industry, you can’t help but learn new techniques and build your circle of influence. Our On The Fly Marketing team members get to gain a better understanding of the marketing world, get a sneak peek at new product lines, and meet people from other offices. They return filled with a different mentality and higher intensity about their work. They are self-motivated to achieve big wins.”

On The Fly Marketing’s Director Shares Business Travel Advice

Terra and the rest of the On The Fly Marketing executive team have learned quite a bit about business travel over the years. “We try to educate our associates the best we can and help them make the most of every trip,” the Director stated. “If they have less to worry about when it comes to reaching their destinations, I know they will have more enlightening experiences.”

Packing light is something Terra always recommends. She explained, “Having to wait at baggage claim or stress over losing your luggage just isn’t any fun at all. I remind my team members to bring only carry-on luggage, and fit everything they need into one medium backpack if at all possible. Every city in the world has laundry facilities, so you really don’t need to pack much in the way of clothes.”

Terra also encourages her associates to make the most of any downtime they have between meetings or events when they’re on the road. She wants them to have unique experiences and enjoy their surroundings when they go on business excursions. “Every trip should be memorable,” she concluded. “If there are trendy restaurants to be visited and beautiful natural wonders to be seen, you owe it to yourself to explore the possibilities.”
