NY Regional Board Hosts ITC's 40th Anniversary Exhibition
New York, New York, June 21, 2016 (Newswire.com) - “We are privileged to be able to bring together business leaders from around the New York City area who share the same passion for helping Israel’s young people in one of the most turbulent regions of the world,” said NY Regional Board Chair Eran Nornberg. “Now more than ever, they need our support.”
Over 100 people packed into the Town Tennis Club on East 55th Street to meet with a team of ITC children and their coach and hear their inspiring stories of how the ITC has helped turn their lives around. They included young 12 year old Daniella, who along with her father escaped persecution in Ukraine to settle in Israel and start a new life. They also included Badia, from one of Israel’s underserved communities in the northern part of the country, who was the first Christian Arab coach to lead an ITC delegation to the US. He is a shining example of the ITC’s remarkable Coexistence Program that brings together children of Arab and Jewish descent to promote understanding and respect for one another.

Since 1976, the Israel Tennis Centers has been empowering Israel’s children to reach their full potential as productive members of Israeli society. Beyond tennis, the ITC is the largest social service agency for children in Israel, serving a wide range of needs for children considered at risk, those with special needs and immigrants from Ethiopia and Russia.
