Dr. J. Thaddeus Beck, of Highlands Oncology Group (HOG), has written an analysis
on a new treatment option for explicit cases of breast cancer.
The analysis is entitled "Health-Related Quality of Life and Disease Symptoms in Postmenopausal Women With HR+, HER2 Advanced Breast Cancer Treated With Everolimus Plus Exemestane Versus Exemestane Monotherapy" and examines a trial of the treatment.
Dr. Beck not only co-wrote the research but also acted as a local investigator of the treatment and collected data for the trial.
"This paper demonstrates that newer targeted therapy can produce better results while preserving a patient's quality of life, Beck said, "Highlands is delighted to have been able to bring this opportunity for our patients to Northwest Arkansas and grateful to the patients that participated in the program."
As one of the most common and deadly cancers among women, breast cancer research is important to the futures of innumerable people.
Second to only non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It is also one of the leading causes of cancer death among women, according to the CDC.
The journal that the research will be published in, Current Medical Research & Opinion, is a peer-reviewed medical journal established in 1972.
