Newsweek Names Director of Social Media
New York, NY, December 7, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Newsweek, a premier weekly news magazine owned by IBT Media, today announced that Margarita Noriega has joined the team as Director of Social Media. Noriega will be based out of IBT Media’s headquarters in New York City and will report to Kira Bindrim, Managing Editor of Newsweek.
As Director of Social Media, Noriega will oversee Newsweek's social media efforts across established and emerging social platforms in order to engage with readers. She will shape Newsweek’s approach to breaking news on social and will develop relationships and partnerships that will help Newsweek and its journalists to grow their reach.

Noriega previously worked as Editor in Charge of Live Events at Reuters in New York, where she oversaw the production and editing of Reuters social media, live blogs and live event coverage. Most recently she handled social media strategy for Fusion, a millennial-focused television network and digital startup based in Miami, and wrote about internet culture and breaking news for Vox.com in Washington, DC.
