New Therapist at Body Mechanics Orthopedic Massage
Online, September 23, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Body Mechanics Orthopedic Massage is a collection of highly trained orthopedic massage therapists located in mid-town Manhattan right around the corner from Grand Central Terminal. The clinic specializes in massage for injury, orthopedic massage, sports massage, and prenatal massage, TMJ, lymphatic drainage and various active release and trigger point therapies.
In the month September, Body Mechanics Orthopedic Massage is proud to announce a new therapist that will join their dedicated team of massage specialists in New York City. Susan Shockett is a licensed Massage Therapist, and a graduate of the Swedish Institute in New York City. Susan is also a board certified Rolf Structural Integrator, specializing in myo-fascial release work aimed to improve postural alignment, flexibility and reduce chronic and acute strain. She is also certified in medical massage with experience in cranial sacral therapy.
Along with her training in massage therapy, Susan has also earned her bachelor’s degree from Columbia University where she first began her studies in health science and is now currently in school for exercise physiology.
In addition to her massage, Susan has worked two years as a psychology researcher at Columbia University and has taught special-needs kids. Susan is passionate about her active lifestyle and as an avid cyclist she logs 100-200 miles weekly, hikes, backpacks, swims, skies, dances and plays the violin. In her free time she is also an active environmentalist.
