The new law, also known as Republic Act 10022 and has been implemented since May 2010, has unfortunately spurred confusion among the recruitment community since several changes have been made with the old law which was Republic 8042. The effects of committing errors regarding this new law can be time-consuming and very costly.

Atty. Jone B. Fung, CPA, is currently the officer-in-charge of POEA's Anti-Illegal Recruitment Branch. He was formerly the OIC of Legal Research, Docket and Enforcement Branch and OIC of Operations & Surveillance Division, Anti-Illegal Recruitment Branch at POEA.
