Online, May 14, 2012 (Newswire.com) - HSBCAMPS world-class staff is getting bigger - 6'9″ and 248 lbs bigger to be exact. The country's fastest growing youth basketball initiative revealed today that New Orleans Hornets forward Carl Landry has become the newest addition to the programs rapidly expanding summer staff. A three year starter, record holder, and team leader at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, Landry was selected 31st overall by the Seattle Supersonics in the 2007 NBA Draft. His rights were later traded to the Houston Rockets for a future second round pick.
A solid contributor for all three NBA franchises he has played for (New Orleans, Houston, Sacramento), Landry has averaged just over twelve points and five rebounds a game throughout his seven-year NBA career, shooting an impressive fifty four percent from the field.
"Today is an exciting day for our organization, and we cannot wait to have Carl join us on the court in 2012," shared HSBCAMPS Director Carson Sofro. "He is not only an outstanding athlete but shares many of our core values and traditions, and we are truly lucky to have him on board."
Joining former Houston Rockets Forward Mike Harris and the rest of the HSBCAMPS staff, Landry will be in attendance when HSBCAMPS opens their 2012 summer tour in Forney, Texas June 4, 2012.
