New Northern Lights Holiday For The Mighty Fine Company

With tours to see the Northern Lights being so popular, adventure travel specialist the Mighty Fine Company has introduced a new holiday to Iceland.

Thanks to a phase of increased activity from our sun, the Northern Lights are set to be bolder and brighter throughout the winter of 2012 and 2013. As a result, tours to Scandinavian countries have never been so popular, according to Linda Gilmour who specialises in unique and unusual holidays at the Mighty Fine Company. Linda comments, "We're delighted to have added the Hotel Ranga in Iceland to our list of destinations. It's a superb location for viewing the Northern Lights."

Located in picturesque Southern Iceland, the Hotel Ranga is really more of a lodge, and boasts an exquisite pine-built design. The interior is contemporary, warm and luxurious. Travellers staying at the Hotel Ranga will find most of Iceland's iconic features within easy reach of their accommodation. The capital city of Reykjavik is only two hours' drive away, as is the legendary Blue Lagoon. The famous Geysir Hot Springs, Gullfoss Waterfall, Thingvellir National Park and several immense glaciers are also close by.

While staying at the Hotel Ranga in winter, guests can take part in a variety of optional activities such as Super Jeep safaris, horseback riding, dog sledding, glacier tours and snowmobiling. Linda adds, "What most of our customers want to see though when they stay at the Hotel Ranga is the Northern Lights. They are naturally occurring phenomena and although we can't guarantee that guests will see them during their holiday, in this area of Iceland their chances of spotting them are increased."

The hotel tries its best to ensure that guests have the ultimate Northern Lights experience. Wake-up calls can be requested should the spectacle appear late at night, and there is plenty of information readily available at the hotel so that guests can learn more about the science and legends surrounding the Aurora Borealis.
