As of next year, a new series of 12-day touring holiday experiences like no other on the Australian market will entice food & wine lovers from all corners of the globe to the country's finest gastronomic hotspots.

"As lovers of fine food & wine ourselves, we've designed innovative tours that offer our customers luxurious accommodation, together with visiting iconic regional tourist attractions - all the while providing exclusive food & wine experiences," says Jacquelyn Smythe, Founding Director of The Gourmet Path Food and Wine Holidays.

Ms Smythe runs The Gourmet Path with her brother, Geno Miley, and their inaugural tour is of Tasmania in October 2014. This tour includes 12 days travel across the state, visiting attractions such as Port Arthur and the rugged West Coast, as well as farmers markets, fine food producers and cellar doors.

Accommodation has been carefully selected with stays in beautiful country manors and private estates. The tour also offers exclusive experiences such as a chocolate master class, a tour of an oyster farm and a bush tucker cooking class.

Ms Smythe says "we offer our guests experiences that aren't available to the independent travellers. On one of the evenings, we stay at a private retreat that generally charges more than $3,000 per night". These handpicked and customized experiences, combined with the opportunity to discover Tasmania (a state famous for its artisan food & wine), creates a tourism product unlike any other on the market.

With most meals included, a particular highlight of the tour will be an extravagant eight-course degustation dinner at the famous Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). As 'the worlds most far-out museum', MONA is internationally renowned for its constantly evolving exhibitions.

"People come to Hobart from all over the world to experience MONA", says Ms Smythe. "To be able to enjoy the museum as well as experience a degustation dinner at the equally infamous Source restaurant is an experience in itself."

The Gourmet Path brother and sister duo have painstakingly selected the best of Tasmania for their experience on offer - and expect their tours of South Australia and Western Australia in 2015 to be just as spectacular.
