New Letterpress Wedding Invitation Instructional Video Series
Online, January 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Sonoma County, C.A.- Inspired by the mystery surrounding how the classic printing process works, Invitations by Ajalon proudly announces a comprehensive instructional video series on letterpress printing. Creating several short videos that outline every aspect of their 1964 Heidelberg's performance, from wedding invitations to the mechanics of a windmill platen press, this is the first and most complete instructional series of its kind.
Starting in the early summer of 2009, Invitations by Ajalon began to produce thorough, high quality, informational movies. Filming exclusively within their small northern California letterpress printing facility, all of the videos feature their vintage equipment, professional press operators and graphic design employees. This project includes detailed information on every facet of the letterpress printing process. From mixing the ink, setting up the press, custom plate making or hot foil stamping, Invitations by Ajalon has become the name in online instructional letterpress printing videos.
"We wanted to film every aspect of the letterpress printing process. From graphic design, the plate room, printing and cutting, it was important to create a complete overview of the entire operation" notes Nicholas Walrath, creative director of the series. "Most of our printing is for weddings, so we thought it would be nice to show brides exactly how their invitations are made."
The video series is broken down into 11 short segments that feature a different portion of Invitations by Ajalon's letterpress wedding invitation business. Combining both commentary and high quality mechanical letterpress sound, each segment creates an easy step-by-step process for the viewer to follow. The project, which was completed in August, 2009, is available in its entirety on youtube.com and the company website.
Invitations by Ajalon is a letterpress wedding invitation subsidiary of Ajalon Printing and Design and has been operating in northern California's Sonoma County wine country for over 50 years.
