New International Office in Atlanta: North Rhine-Westphalia Promotes Economic Relations With the Southeastern United States
ATLANTA & DÜSSELDORF, Germany, December 9, 2021 (Newswire.com) - The state-owned foreign trade and investment agency NRW.Global Business is opening a new office in Atlanta, GA. This makes North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) the first German state with a representative office in the Atlanta metropolitan region. With the mission of strengthening economic relations between NRW and the Southeast, driving investor awareness of NRW as a strategic investment location is the core focus. In addition, the office facilitates resources for NRW companies entering the US market.
NRW Economics and Innovation Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart: "The Atlanta metropolitan region is the growth engine in the US Southeast. Numerous major US corporations are represented there. Above all, however, an exciting startup ecosystem for innovative companies with emerging business models has developed in the region. We want to tap this potential with our new office in Atlanta and present ourselves as a high-performance business partner. This opens up new growth prospects for both sides."
Felix Neugart, CEO of NRW.Global Business: "With around 1,500 companies, the USA is one of North Rhine-Westphalia's largest investor countries. At the same time, it is an important growth market for our domestic economy. Atlanta is already our third international office in the USA and the first on the East Coast. We focus our activities here in particular on tech sectors such as cyber security, FinTech or IoT, with biotechnology and of course the logistics industry also playing an important role."
The 'business capital' of the Southeast is home to more than 150,000 companies and boasts strong growth rates and excellent connections for global travel and freight traffic. The Atlanta office is headed by Daniel Dueren, who will leverage his broad international networks to support both US and NRW companies in market entry. In cooperation with the German-American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern US and the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the office will also oversee NRW's trade development activities in Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina.
