Debut author Christine Stovell has secured a publishing deal with women's fiction specialist Choc Lit, where the heroes are as irresistible as chocolate. Choc Lit will publish her novel, Turning The Tide, ready for the 2010 Summer market.

Lyn Vernham, Choc Lit's Marketing Director, is delighted to have Christine on board. "Christine is a talented writer who until now has been undiscovered. She's had numerous articles published and won competitions but this will be her first novel. It's great to be in a position to help new authors, Christine's story is a lovely example of contemporary women's fiction with some touching humour."

Based in a sleepy seaside town on the east coast, Turning The Tide tells the story of one woman's desperate quest to keep her father's boatyard afloat and prevent her beloved town from being invaded by 'London weekenders'. With quirky local opposition and a dying clientele, it's a huge challenge. And on the other side there's the handsome property developer, who can do no wrong by the town folk.

Christine says: "I'm so excited about working with Choc Lit and seeing my first novel published. I haven't got over the shock of being offered a contract, it's still so very new to me." She describes her hero Matthew in terms of chocolate as "darkly tempting, with a hard centre that's just waiting to melt. He promises pure pleasure. Peel back the wrapper for a self-indulgent treat!"
