New Arrivals in Vintage Collection at Inessa Stewart's Antiques
Online, December 7, 2010 (Newswire.com) - A three mirrored cabinet stands tall among the just arrived antiques in the Inessa collection at Baton Rouge antique collection. Inessa Stewart's showroom in Baton Rouge has in its latest additions in furniture, some of the finest French Mahogany Commodes and French Walnut Tables. A fresh new motley of brass and bronze candle sticks, pewter candy server and other pewter items, and copper ovens also seeks your attention.
Inessa Stewart's antique collection is special with a concentration on collectible furniture, mirrors, metal handicrafts, porcelain crockery and figurines, and chandeliers. The following pieces of French antiques are samples of the vast collection at the showroom.
Vintage Country French Commode: Boasting a contoured facade en arbalette, this handsome commode is perfect for any room at home or office. Crafted from old-growth French white oak, it features two capacious drawers fitted with cast brass rococo pulls and exkutcheon guards. Underneath the drawers is a finely scrolled apron pierce-carved with foliates which are flanked by acanthus plumage and cross hatching. Contoured top provides a spacious surface, and support is provided by subtly scrolled cabriole legs.
French Walnut draw Leaf table: One of our most popular dining table designs, the French draw leaf is a study in simplicity, coupled with grace, style and functionality! This example, rendered from fine French walnut, features traditional cabriole legs and scrolled apron all adorned with acanthus plumes, shell and escargot motifs. The parquet top conceals two leaves that easily draw out when needed, then quickly tuck back in to reclaim valuable floor space.
Circa mid-1900s.
Antique Rustic French Writing Table: Perfect as a bedside accompaniment, a student's desk, or anywhere a convenient table with large drawer space is needed, this rustic writing table features finely turned legs connected with the classic "H" stretcher for strength, a full width drawer, and spacious top, all in a diminutive package. Such tables were considered essential to most homes before the days of cell phones and laptops, and provided the means by which one could jot down notes, write missives, or compose prose & poetry.
