New App Tertiary, Made by Teens
Online, March 17, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Matt Panzer and Lenny Khazan of the Hewlett-Woodmere School District are proud to announce the release of their newest app, Tertiary. Tertiary is a unique puzzle and strategy game for the iOS mobile platform. The app is the result of a year and a half of sketching, designing, programming, and testing.
Tertiary is a color-based puzzle and strategy game. The game is designed to be fast paced, requiring a bit of thinking and concentration. The game consists of 49 triangles arranged in a 7x7 grid. These triangles start off grey, and the object of the game is to create a colorful masterpiece by pressing all of the triangles on screen- except for those that are in between red, yellow AND blue triangles. The game gets its name from these Tertiary triangles: a mix of all three primary colors.
In order to play, the player should know a few basic rules. First, the triangles must be tapped in and Up/Down order. Second, Tertiary triangles are present between blue, red, and yellow up-pointing triangles. Lastly, at the end of the game, when only Tertiary and up-pointing triangles are remaining, the up/down rule no longer applies.
Previously, Matt and Lenny developed and published their first app, Meat Calculator, for their Middle School's robotics team. The app now has over 6,000 downloads on the Apple App Store.
Matt and Lenny put lots of time and hard work into the app, and they look forward to improving Tertiary further. The developing duo can't wait to release another app.
"Making apps that entertain people not only gives us programming experience, but is really fun and rewarding too," says Matt.
