Jeans Day Contributions for Summer Academic Enrichment Program in New Haven
New Haven, March 3, 2016 (Newswire.com) - This Friday, March 4th, Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C. will host a Jeans Day to benefit the Horizons program at Foote School. Horizons is an academic enrichment program inaugurated in the summer of 2015 with 48 low-income New Haven students entering grades 1, 2 and 3. The goal of the program is to reverse summer learning loss; working with students to close the learning gap between low income students and their peers who attend other schools with more resources.
The Horizons at Foote program features academic programs in literacy, math, arts, technology and play, with daily swimming instruction. Horizons at Foote is part of a national network of summer programs held on campuses of independent schools and colleges across the country. Students receive full scholarships for the 6-week, full-day program, paying only a modest enrollment fee. The program is funded through donations and grants.
