NBL BMX Racing Flying High After Competitive Weekend in Peachtree City

Strider Cup and Riders With Special Abilities Highlight First Outdoor National of the Season

The NBL Georgia Peach Nationals, held at William L. Davis BMX in Peachtree City, Georgia, March 19-20, drew over 2000 racers and fans to take part in some intense Southern BMX racing action. The first outdoor race of the 2011 Hyper Bicycles National Championship Series featured over 1000 fast Pros and top amateur riders from across the country on the top-notch Peachtree City track.

After a well-attended pre-race on Friday night, full-blown National racing kicked off on Saturday morning with the official launch of the NBL Ambassador program for Riders with Special Abilities in partnership with Aurora Strategies and AHEAD Foundation. Miles Lucas was named the 2011 National Ambassador for the program. He received a new bike, helmet and gear from J&R Bicycles, as well as a special jacket and plaque from TB Trophies & Awards. BMX scholarships will be offered to riders with special abilities through the AHEAD Foundation this season. More details on the new program will be announced soon. Please contact the NBL with any questions.

The new NBL Strider Cup highlighted the action on Saturday. Toddlers ages 2 to 5 experienced the thrill of racing on a dirt track and received trophies and awards. Participants are eligible to compete in the Strider World Cup Championships in Japan later this year.

The racing action was fast and furious as many riders raced outdoors for the first time in months! Riders will be ready to go at the next Nationals of the season in Petersburg, Virginia and Las Cruces, New Mexico on April 2-3.
