Gator Nationals Saturday Night Pro Spectacular Event Draws More 6000 Fans!

Gahanna, OH. The NBL Gator Nationals, held at Tampa BMX Raceway in Lake Park, April 10 & 11, drew the largest crowd for any National race this year. According to outside estimates, the race attracted over 7200 racers and fans to take part in some of the most exciting racing to date. It was the third race of the season for the NBL's Elite Series which featured more than 1000 fast Pros and top amateur riders from across the country on a buttery smooth and lightning fast Tampa track.

The Saturday evening Pro Spectacular began with some great tunes from area band, Shadow Cabinet. Fun contests and exciting giveaways for fans included $2000 in prizes.

Pros from the U.S., Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Latvia converged for a hugely successful autograph signing, and then the real action began under the lights! Olympic Gold Medalist and reigning NBL champ Maris Strombergs took the lead out of the gate in the Elite Men main and never looked back. The win put Free Agent's star rider and NBL points leader in good position to defend his crown this season. In Elite Women competition, Amanda Carr fended off reigning NBL champ, Dominique Daniels, for the win.

Local Florida boys, CJ McGuire and Percy Owens, took the Super-Ex and Masters wins respectively.
