National Repeal Citizens United Week
Online, March 2, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The First Annual National Repeal Citizens Week is scheduled to begin on the first day of Spring March 21, 2012 through March 28, 2012. During this week all Citizens are encouraged to contact their Senators and Congressmen to tell them to move the Deutch/Sanders bill out of committees and to the floor of the House and Senate for a vote. We also encourage all Citizens to contact President Obama and tell him to support our efforts to move that legislation forward.
Local demonstrations at Congressmen and Senators in-state offices and a National Demonstration at the Capitol are encouraged. Our republic was designed so that the people can tell Congress what to do, and, if they don't comply, we vote them out. We, the People are taking back our government.
Our rationale for creating this week is to harness the efforts of all who want money out of politics and effective campaign reform and create one short term goal for us all. This is the first step on that journey of 1,000 miles. The primary issue for most Occupy groups, many Tea Party and Libertarian groups, and the middle of the roaders is the effect of the Super PACs on the electoral process.
A person need not be connected to the Internet to participate in this political action, nor a member of Facebook or other page or group. This action is a choice between a Congress elected by the 55%, a Majority of the people or a Congress elected through the money and influence of the top 15%. This is a choice we must all make before the next election, or the situation will not get better. We, the People, must fulfill our duties as Citizens of the United States, petition our representatives for Redress of one specific grievance, the one grievance that corrupts our entire political process. If our elected Officials in Congress and the Presidency ignore our pleas, we must vote them all out. We must call for all of our political candidates to take a stand on this one issue, whether they are running for President or Congress.
