N Zero Launches Crowdfunding Campaign for New Project, Webkan

By connecting WebKan, a powerful device that performs advanced biometric analyses, to a digital signage LCD panel, the user can select specific videos to display based on viewer age and gender, meaning that people see videos that catch their attention. N Zero has started a crowdfunding campaign at http://igg.me/at/webkan

The crowdfunding campaign for the new N Zero project, WebKan, has started yesterday: http://igg.me/at/webkan

Today, digital signage systems only display random video advertising. With WebKan, the user can deliver the right attention-grabbing videos to people based on their age and gender at a fraction of the cost of the LCD monitor.

WebKan smart digital signage system, developed by N Zero, detects age, gender and other valuable information about customers by using advanced analytical algorithms on images captured by one or more small cameras in the user's shop.

WebKan collects big data about a user's customers. This information can be accessed via a business intelligence system to plan a marketing strategy: it is possible to know the age and gender of people who enter the shop, as well as the time of day and day of the week or month that they visit.

People can buy a pre-release device with a subscription to services and be the first to take advantage of WebKan, ahead of their competitors.

Users who buy the big data pack can get information about people collected by all devices worldwide. To protect privacy, data on users and shops is not visible, but data can be aggregated in many ways with the start time for aggregation chosen by the user.

Imagine buying one or more months’ access to Facebook archives or Twitter firehose at a fraction of the regular price.

The system is based upon low-cost hardware that is very easy to install and setup. Customer photos are sent to N Zero cloud servers where image analysis is performed. This permits a low entry price for users and a low-cost monthly subscription fee.

WebKan can be used everywhere, from small shops to the outlets of big franchising organizations. A user with digital signage displays installed in many geographical locations can manage advertising videos from the WebKan web control panel. Video files need be uploaded only one time; the system will deploy them via Internet to all of the user’s devices worldwide.

Located in Tuscany, Italy, N Zero is a startup with experience in software development, system administration and security. N Zero clients include private and public companies, universities and research centers. WebKan is its first in-house project.
