My Kitchen Rules Stars Win Big at Great Australian Sandwichship

Former My Kitchen Rules stars and Lady Marmalade Cafe owners Mal Gill & Bec Saul won 2 trophies at the Great Australian Sandwichship yesterday. Wins for Best Lunch Wrap & roll sees them heading to Nationals at the Sydney Opera House on August 6th

My Kitchen Rules' "Urban Hippies" Mal Gill and Bec Saul were celebrating this evening after winning two trophies at this years' Great Australian Sandwichship.

The Lady Marmalade Cafe owner's saw their premature exit from the TV cooking contest avenged and their penchant for delicate flavours, and adventurous cuisine avenged in taking out "Best Lunch Wrap" and "Best Lunch Roll" categories.

"We're really stoked," said Malcolm "we faced great competition from some great cafes and restaurants, and we were lucky enough to be chosen as the best in Queensland. It's a real honour, and we look forward to serving the winning sandwich and wrap at our Brisbane Cafe."

No strangers to plaudits, this Stone's Corner Cafe has helped rejuvenate the Brisbane inner south attracting " Brisbane's Best Sandwiches " attention from the Courier Mail, and top 20 cafe in Brisbane status from peer reviewed website Urbanspoon.

Their winning entrants are sure to have mouth's moistening over keyboard's Australia-wide, but will be available in only two locations, their cafe, and at the Sydney Opera House steps for the national finals.
"Bec and I are really excited about going back to Sydney. The last time we were there we we're on our way to an early exit from My Kitchen Rules, now we're hoping to take our piece of Queensland all the way to World Sandwichship."

Whilst their everyday menu will continue to be available 7 days a week the Sandwichship winners will be available on Friday's from their 269 Logan Road Stone's Corner location.
