Moneyball Man, coach Mike (aka "Hubie Magic") Huber, one of 3 baseball hitting coaches recognized by Ted Williams, says, "Ted Williams would have loved this movie!" The new movie, based on the best selling novel of the same name, reveals the secrets that General Manager, Billy Beane of the Oakland A's, used to build a winning team despite being one of the lowest budgeted teams in the major leagues. Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt, opens in theaters on September 23, 2011.

From an offensive standpoint, the Moneyball secret was to find hitters who can hit for high slugging percentage and have a high on base percentage. The A's excluded any small ball components from the equation including, recruiting guys that can steal bases. According to Billy Beane and Ted Williams, "you can't steal first base; you have to hit your way on!"

Huber is called the "Moneyball Man" because of his ability to coach baseball teams to hit at least 50 points better than their normal team batting average and slugging percentage by using the teaching philosophy of Hall of Famer Williams. He says Moneyball, the movie, may finally dispel all of the theories that say small ball (hit and run, bunting, and stealing) is the key to building championship teams!

"Williams sometimes single handedly won games for his team (Boston Red Sox) because he always was the leading slugger and on base percentage player in the league for most of his career. Even as a coach with the Washington Senators, Ted Williams taught all his players how to out slug teams and was immediately named manager of the year in only 2 years coaching in the big leagues," Huber stated. "If Mr. Williams were alive today he would have really appreciated the popularity of this movie and would have wanted it to be a catalyst to help teams realize the proper approach to winning games from an offensive standpoint."

Mike Huber's journey began over 10 years ago when he picked up Williams' book, The Science of Hitting, which had gone unnoticed by the general public as a standard way of approaching hitting. After a lifetime of research, Huber has uncovered the secrets of the greatest hitters of all time and invented a simple and very specialized training system that any hitter can benefit from. "I am a Team Hitting Specialist, and with my training system I can help coaches build championship ball clubs all over the nation - Moneyball style," said Huber.
