Molina's Cantina Announces Third Location, Opening Fall 2011

Popular Tex-Mex Restaurant finds new home in West University area.

Houston - Molina's Cantina, Houston's oldest family owned and operated Tex-Mex restaurant, announced today that they will open a third location at Braes Heights Shopping Center in the City of Southside Place. Located at 3801 Bellaire Blvd. at Weslayan, their newest location replaces Molina's former West University eatery at Buffalo Speedway and Bissonnet. The popular West University location closed in January 2008 when the site was cleared for construction and redeveloped by H.E. Butts.

"We cannot wait to be back in the neighborhood," says Ricardo Molina who owns and operates the restaurants, along with brothers Raul and Roberto. "We had a very strong, supportive following with our West U clientele and look forward to welcoming them back to our new location." The Braes Heights venue is two miles from their former location and minutes from Houston's Medical Center, West University and Bellaire.

The 5,600-square-foot space will seat approximately 180 indoors and 40 on the patio. "We are especially thankful to Mike Axelrad and Stephen Swope at Centro Properties along with our broker Pat Berna for assisting us in finding our newest 'home.'" says Molina. "It took longer than we expected to find a replacement for our Buffalo Speedway restaurant but it feels great to be back."

In addition to inking a deal on their newest venue, Molina's recently completed renovations on their locations at 4720 Washington Avenue and 7901 Westheimer Road.

Molina's Cantina will be celebrating their 70th anniversary in June 2011. To stay apprised of Molina's latest news, sign up for their e-newsletter at www.molinasrestaurants.com, or follow Molina's Cantina on facebook or twitter.
