The Modern Advertising, Inc. management team has announced that it will be launching a new recruitment initiative. This comes in the wake of a national leadership conference that company's director and a few associates attended.

Team expansions are exciting times for any organization. He explained that the recruitment push would largely focus on college graduates from the class of 2015. While the company has always emphasized young talent, Mike recognized the power of specifically focusing on college students thanks to a talk at a recent leadership conference.


“Some of the discussions at the event were really inspiring,” he asserted. “In particular, one spurred me to focus our recruitment push on college students. We have since been setting up some partnerships with local institutions. We hope this will drive some fresh new ideas and energy to our team. According to Jackson, another major benefit of the conference the Modern Advertising, Inc. team attended was the opportunity to network. This prompted him to discuss some of the mistakes that people regularly make while meeting colleagues.

“I see people making really simple mistakes while networking,” he stated. “A lot of them try to meet as many people as possible but don’t develop genuine or productive relationships. Others spend way too much time talking and not enough listening.”

Perhaps the biggest issue that Jackson emphasized, however, is the practice of connecting people just for the sake of it. This results in poor introductions that benefit no one. Fortunately, he has a solution – the double opt-in system.

“I ask both parties whether they would like to be introduced,” he explained. “This means that when I introduce people they are both excited for it. It has allowed me to achieve a lot more through connecting others. I strongly encourage all professional to adopt this practice.”
