MLB Blog Buzz Partners With Baseball Bloggers Alliance in New Social Media Experience
Online, June 1, 2011 (Newswire.com) - MLBBlogBuzz.com, a baseball blog aggregation site, has recently partnered with the Baseball Bloggers Alliance to release an entirely unique social experience for baseball fans. Aptly named "Connect," the new platform is a hybrid combination between a familiar social media and the classic forum set-up.
Kevin Hirata, co-founder of MLB Blog Buzz, says the website has been looking to interact with users. "We wanted to create something that was beyond just the run-of-the-mill forum," says Hirata. "Now, 'Connect' allows our fans to not only create new topics, but also to create unique groups specifically geared towards select interests."
The recent announcement comes on the heels of a new partnership with the Baseball Bloggers Alliance. According to the website's Facebook fan page, the BBA was "formed in 2009 to foster communication and collaboration between bloggers across baseball." As of late May, 2011, the website had 290 participating blogs.
"We're really excited to have the BBA on board for this new venture," explains Hirata. "They're bringing in a huge network of nearly 300 knowledgeable and dedicated bloggers." The co-owner says an exclusive test of "Connect" received a positive response. "It's a good sign, and we hope that we gain momentum with our official launch this morning."
