Midwest Company Launches New Product That Takes the Hassle Out of Peeling Garlic

Today, Nebraska company Concentric Communications launches a new kitchen gadget that peels garlic without all the mess of traditional methods. The product itself looks like a miniature crystal jelly dish your grandmother would have in the cupboard— except it's squishy like a jellyfish, and peels garlic incredibly well.

For years now we've known how healthy garlic is to include in our diets, yet many are still using processed granulated powders instead of delicious fresh cloves of garlic.  Most people love the taste of fresh garlic, but until recently you could either smash it with a knife and then pick the skins out of the smashed cloves— Or pick and peel with your fingers only to ultimately miss a few skins and leave your hands smelling like garlic.

With the JellyDish Garlic Peeler you simply place garlic cloves in the dish and then "twist-n-pinch" the skins off. The skins come off easily without breaking the cloves, making it perfect for sous chefs to prepare garlic for use later. The squishy nature of the FDA grade material causes the tiny little bits of skins "the mess" to cling to it and stay in the bowl rather than getting all over the work area. You can then snap the skins off into the garbage, and when done wash with warm soapy water to reuse.

"I started having everyone try it," said Larry Owens, Owner/Operator of Concentric, the product's manufacturer. "Once I found that nearly everyone has the same reaction when the try it, I started having everyone try it themselves rather than me just demonstrating it. Nearly everyone has the reaction of "oh yeah" when the skins start to come off like magic."

Larry Owens, Owner/Operator

Unlike other garlic peelers that tend to allow the skins to get all over— JellyDish peels the cloves while the mess clings to the bowl. The product itself looks like a miniature crystal jelly dish your grandmother would have in the cupboard— except it's squishy like a jellyfish, and peels garlic incredibly well.  Currently available in Lincoln/Omaha grocery stores and foodie-friendly retailers each package comes with a flavor-packed garlic inspired recipe and more will be posted at the companies website www.myjellydish.com.
