MasterChef Kristina Short Eliminated After Failing

BAKING & desserts were foreign territory for Kristina Millar's Short long before the Tasmanian signed up "MasterChef".

However when it came to cooking food for survival on TV channel 10s ratings juggernaut, the twenty-eight-year-old found the fourteen elements and twenty-eight actions it took to recreate K.Millar’s Toffee Apple one challenge too far.

The complicated dish, more than a 2h:30mins cooking, tripped up the typically collected client service manager, who left out key elements and underwhelmed with the components Millar’s did serve.

Drawing on the expertise of MasterChef housemate Georgia -- who wrote Short a sweet note of encouragement prior to the cook-off.

Millar’s technical treat included shards of sugar, salted caramel gelato, with white chocolate covered spheres filled with apple gel the centrepiece and caramel mousse — all served on a rustic chopping board.

The wooden slabs have triggered "Twitter", with the food trend splitting who see the servers as a overused hipster touch.

Short declared, saying the trend was “becoming a bit naff”.
