Massachusetts Tourism Director Appointed To Department Of Commerce Advisory Board

Online, May 24, 2013 (Newswire.com) - U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank recently announced the appointment of Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT) Executive Director Betsy Wall as one of six new members to the national Travel and Tourism Advisory Board.

The Board was established in 2003 to advise on matters relating to the United States' travel and tourism industry. Its members represent a broad cross-section of the industry, including transportation services, financial services, hotels and restaurants.

"It is an honor to represent Massachusetts on behalf of the Patrick/Murray administration," said Betsy Wall, executive director of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism. "The Commonwealth's tourism industry has a major impact on our economy and I am pleased to be part of the continued effort to support it."

As Executive Director of the Massachusetts Marketing Partnership and MOTT, Wall coordinates the management and implementation of MOTT's domestic and international marketing programs, including a broad range of activities around leisure travel promotion, research, and industry development/engagement. She also serves as the incoming chair of Discover New England, an international tourism effort led by the region's state tourism directors. She is a board member of the US Travel Association.
