LGBT community looks forward to celebrations, parades, and festivals in 2013

Days are getting longer, spring is in sight, and Massachusetts Pride groups are gearing up for a busy season of festivities. From East to West and in between, events, dances, and parades are just a few of the opportunities to celebrate in the coming months. Greater Boston Area

Boston Youth Pride, May 11
Massachusetts Youth Pride is a one-day annual festival dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ youth in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The day ends with the BAGLY Prom. bostonpride.org/youthpride

Boston Pride Week, May 31 - June 9
Boston's Pride Week is a ten-day event centered around the Pride Parade and Festival. The week includes a kick off party, several night club events, a human rights and education discussion, and a block party. bostonpride.org/prideweek


North of Boston

North Shore Pride, June 29
Following last year's first ever North Shore Pride event, this year's celebration in Salem will feature dancers, singers, bands, and more, with the Pride parade at the center of it all. northshorepride.org


Cape Cod and the Islands

Provincetown Family Pride Week, August 3 - 10
LGBT parents, their children, their extended families, prospective parents and friends will gather at the tip of Cape Cod in gay-friendly Provincetown, to relax and enjoy an amazing week filled with great conversations, singing, dancing, games, beach parties and so much more! familyequality.org

Carnival 2013 (Provincetown), August 18 - 24
With the theme this year being Viva Las Vegas, Carnival, one of the most popular LGBT events in Massachusetts, promises to be quite the party. Costumes, boat cruises, pool parties, and a clambake are just a few of the activities in the works. ptown.org/carnival.asp
Central Massachusetts

Worcester Pride, September 7
A celebration on the Common and a parade will be part of this fun-filled day in Worcester. Additional details will be announced soon on worcesterpride.org.
Western Massachusetts

Noho Pride's 32nd Annual LGBT Pride Event
Noho Pride's 32nd Annual LGBT Pride Event happens on May 4, 2013, in Northampton, MA. Kicking off the LGBT Pride season in New England, the Noho Pride Event begins at noon with a fabulous parade through downtown Northampton to the Three County Fair Grounds for an all day celebration. site.nohopride.org

Springfield Pride, May 30-June 5
In addition to the annual Pride celebration, 2013 will mark the premiere of This is Who We Are, a documentary about the history of the LGBTQ community and past Pride events in Springfield. Save the dates and stay tuned to springfieldmasspride.org for details.
