Make Waves Marketing Prepares for Leadership Conference

Make Waves Marketing's director of operations discussed an upcoming leadership conference and what can be gained from attending such events. She also shared advice on preparing for big industry gatherings.

“Our team here at Make Waves Marketing is so excited about going to the leadership conference,” stated Jennifer, the company’s director of operations. “We have some first-time attendees coming along for the ride, and I’m sure they will bring back a lot of valuable insights.”

Jennifer is especially looking forward to the educational opportunities offered at the event. She explained, “We’re going to be up close and personal with some of the most dynamic achievers in the industry. Not only that, we’ll get to hear inspiring keynote speeches from top leaders and influential founders. I can’t wait to see how much our people learn and watch them apply it back at the office.”

"I don't want our people to be surprised by anything at the event, and I want them to have fun while learning as much as possible."

There will also be unmatched networking opportunities at the conference. “We always stress the importance of relationships in our industry,” Jennifer added. “If we want Make Waves Marketing to continue thriving and expanding, we need to keep forging meaningful connections with talented leaders and innovative companies. I have no doubt that our team will return from the event with a variety of helpful new contacts, and that new partnerships will follow.”

Make Waves Marketing’s Director Helps Her Team Prepare for Conferences

The Make Waves Marketing executives want their associates to get the most out of the upcoming conference. With that in mind, Jennifer has some simple strategies to help her team members prepare for the event. She commented, “I don’t want our people to be surprised by anything at the event, and I want them to have fun while learning as much as possible.”

The first thing the director advises her people to do is to review the itinerary carefully before the conference begins. “You don’t want to waste time looking for the sessions in which you’re most interested,” she added. “Even worse than that, though, is not knowing who will be in attendance. Taking just a few minutes the night before to review the agenda and attendees will help you plan your day from start to finish.”

When it comes to networking, Jennifer reminds her team not to be too aggressive. As she put it, “It’s easy to get carried away and try to make connections with 20 or 30 people. Spreading your name and the company’s name around is fine, but if you want to make meaningful contacts, you need to focus your efforts. I encourage my team members to concentrate on two or three dynamic new contacts rather than trying to go on a networking spree.”
