“For the first time ever, pets were welcome this year,” Yulma stated. “After the hike, organizers prepared a silent auction. There were even opportunities to do yoga or get a chair massage! As an added bonus, anyone who picked up trash throughout the hike was offered a special prize. It was an amazing time, and all for such an important cause.”
Yulma explained that the American Cancer Society has been operating for more than a century. It is the leading agency in the battle against cancer. Due to its impact, more people survive the disease today than ever. In fact, death rates in the United States have declined by 20 percent in just over two decades.
