Mage Solar Employee Receives Award For Scientific Work

Andreas Fischer receives Energy Prize 2010 for his bachelor degree dissertation

Ravensburg (Germany), May 25, 2010 - MAGE SOLAR GMBH, part of the globally operating MAGE GROUP, today announced that Andreas Fischer was awarded the Energy Prize 2010 for his bachelor degree dissertation by Technische Werke Schussental (TWS) at the beginning of May 2010. He wrote his dissertation for the Physical Engineering degree, specializing in Energy & Process Engineering, at the University of Applied Sciences Ravensburg-Weingarten while at MAGE SOLAR GMBH.

In his dissertation Andreas Fischer practically analyzes the best possible connections between modules and inverters. In doing so he works out the basic principles for organizing complete solar systems in the planning stage so that they are particularly efficient and provide an optimum yield. He also includes potential sources of loss, such as shadowing, in his considerations and checks his solutions under real conditions with field tests.

TWS awards the prize once a year for excellent innovative work in the areas of rational energy use, renewable energies and new energy technologies. Its official statement reads as follows: "Mr. Andreas Fischer has with the subject 'Investigating an optimal inverter connection' made an outstanding contribution with regard to the inverter's efficiency, yield and utilization."

"With these results we can coordinate the components even more effectively and secure higher yields for our customers," explains Norbert Philipp, CEO of MAGE SOLAR GMBH. "We would also like to promote scientific work at MAGE SOLAR in future and in doing so improve the transfer of know-how between science and the solar industry."

Andreas Fischer has been working in the Development department of MAGE SOLAR GMBH since October 2009 and is continuing to work on developing innovative, high-performance complete systems for the national and international solar market.
