Made Magazine Launches 'Millennial Meetup Weekend'
Chicago, Illinois, February 4, 2016 (Newswire.com) - MADE, a magazine produced and read by aspirational, multicultural millennials, is bringing its pages to life by hosting the first “Millennial Meetup Weekend.” This networking event takes place February 26-27 in Chicago. Locals, transplants, and out-of-towners between the ages of 21 to 35 years old are invited to come out and hear from power player peers.
The weekend will begin at 6:00 p.m. on February 26 at The Promontory, 5311 S. Lake Park Ave., with the think tank, “State of the MADE Millennial.” The think tank, similar to the format of a TED Talk, will be led by Issac Paul, co-creator of “The Tequila Tales,” an unscripted speaking series about love and relationships that pulls audience members in as part of the cast.
Making Our Ends Meet
Following the think tank, a “Made in America” Q&A will be held at 7:30 p.m. with Jamel ‘JamelF’ Franklin, politics and pop culture columnist for MADE. JamelF will open the floor for questions from the audience to ensure a raw and authentic exchange.
Day two, February 27, will be the official presentation of the 2016 “MADE Impact List Awards.” From 12:00-2:00 p.m., Power 92’s AJ Linton will honor awardees over brunch at The Godfrey Hotel Chicago, 127 W. Huron St. This year’s honorees include:
Stephanie Coleman - Candidate for 16th Ward Committeeman
Will Grandberry - Founder of WGGIII Ministries
Katrina Jackson - Tattoo Artist and Painter with Black Ink Crew Chicago
Marcus Noel - Founder of Heart of Man
Priya Shah - Founder of The Simple Good
Hustle Simmons - Entertainment Entrepreneur with TP Productions/Eighty 81
The meetup will conclude with a day party hosted by FAME Events. “The Social Study” will take place from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at The Godfrey Hotel Chicago IO Rooftop Lounge. DJs Mile High and Charles Protege will have the tables turning and host JamelF will have the mic rocking.
