Lynda Hinkle named to Rowan Alumni Association Board of Directors
The south Jersey attorney is eager to assist her alma mater
Online, August 15, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Attorney Lynda L. Hinkle has been named to the board of directors for the Rowan University Alumni Association.
Hinkle, who earned a BA in English and a Masters in Teaching (MST) from Rowan, is thrilled to be part of the Alumni Association.
“It’s wonderful to be recognized by my alma mater,” said Hinkle, “I’m looking forward to helping the Alumni Association reach its goals.”
The Rowan University Alumni Association, which strives to, “maintain a lasting and positive relationship between our dedicated graduates and the University,” is a large and active organization with over 73,000 members. The organization is responsible for many events and activities aimed at building a community among its graduates.
Hinkle, who also sits on the Rutgers University Alumni board, addressed the sometimes contentious nature of the relationship between the two schools. “Rutgers School of Law—Camden and Rutgers University—Camden have been tremendously good to me, and I am blessed by the community there,” she said, “But my undergrad work and my MST were completed at Rowan University, and I have equally strong connections there. I support both of these institutions and the great work they are doing for south Jersey.
“We have common interests. We have common goals. There are some competing interests, but there is no enemy.”
