2015 Campaign for STEM
Leaders, Innovators, & Forward Thinkers of Tomorrow (LIFTT Inc). has embraced America's challenge to create the next generation of STEM professionals with cutting edge skills in problem solving, technological literacy, communication, teamwork, and computation. This is an answer to America's call to prepare our children and youth for careers related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
As with any nonprofit, fundraising is the engine of LIFTT Inc. because it is our pathway to building a secure and stable foundation for ensuring the sustainability of our operations and impact for years to come. To solidify our existence and anchor our work with children and youth in STEM, we must grow our community of supporters to ensure our financial stability as a nonprofit.
To this end, LIFTT Inc.'s 2015 Campaign for STEM Education seeks to increase its capacity to serve children and youth throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in the following ways:
- serve 75 - 100 youth for the 2015 - 2016 calendar year with quality STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programming and services
- develop partnerships with business and tech companies to offer internships to college students, scholarships for high school seniors, and project-based learning activities to K-12 students
- acquire laptops, tablets, computer software / apps, and STEM curriculum/kits to provide our students with cutting-edge resources for learning
- realize our fundraising goals by securing corporate partnerships / sponsorships, planning special events, and building partnerships with local community-based organizations
- provide our staff and volunteers with professional development training in youth development, instructional best practices, and development-related activities
- meet our operational costs (e.g., marketing materials, leasing space, contracted services, various technology-related costs, etc.)
Donations in support of our 2015 Campaign for STEM Education will strengthen our core programs and services and help us build our capacity to offer needed STEM education services to youth "at-promise" throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and historically underserved communities.
