Let's Keep the Music Going!
NEW YORK, March 27, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Due to the increasing global health crisis, and in the interest of everyone's safety and well-being at this time, the New York Jazz Workshop has decided to transition to online learning for all group workshops. On a positive note, this means that music students no longer need to visit NYC to enroll in live, interactive weekly jazz workshops led by all-star faculty — Aspiring musicians can participate from anywhere in the world. NYJW faculty members already have years of experience teaching in an online format and possess the ability to lead sessions in an exciting and informative way, while students remain in the comfort and safety of their own home. Interested students can contact the New York Jazz Workshop today to arrange a $20 commitment-free trial class as soon as this week.
NYJW currently boasts an exciting lineup of 18 instrumental and vocal online weekly workshops arranged by musical style and level, with more being added in the coming weeks. There's something for everyone! Beginner musicians will learn the ins and outs of improvisation in the Blues and Beyond Workshop with Dave Scott, Intro to Jazz Improvisation with Vito Lesczak and Joseph Lepore, or the Jazz Improv/Theory 2 Workshop with Marc Mommaas. Intermediate musicians may gravitate towards more stylistic approaches of the Funk/Fusion Workshop or Bebop Workshop with Andrea Veneziani, Brazilian Music with Vitor Goncalves, Jazz Standards with Kenny Wessel, or the Art of the Jam Session with Dave Ambrosio. Advanced jazz concepts are explored in the Bebop to Hardbop Workshop with Mark Sherman, Mixed Meter/Polyrhythm with Marc Mommaas, and Jazz of the 60s with Dave Ambrosio. Singers will be encouraged to find their voices in the Let's Sing Workshops with Olivia Foschi and Jocelyn Medina (a perfect class for beginners, even if you've never sung a note) and the advanced/intermediate Vocal Jazz Workshop with Michelle Walker.
One-on-one private lessons are also available online. Prospective students won’t find a better list of world-class teachers for guitar, piano, drums, bass, voice, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, flute, percussion, violin, music composition and more. The New York Jazz Workshop guarantees that our diverse music faculty offers the most convenient, effective, and affordable options for your specific music-learning needs.
