AZ, US, June 21, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Spotlight is a new suite of paintings dedicated to those people who have shaped history, and who have been a source of inspiration and encouragement to the artist during her creative struggles. The collection is a tribute to these heroes, and even more so, it is a tribute to all humankind. She wants to remind us that they, too, were humans just like us, and that we are all capable of accomplishing wonderful things and make a lasting impact - however small or big - on the world.
Combining the fine details of traditional portraiture, with large areas of light washes and dripping paint, these portraits grab our attention with their subjects’ gaze, but soon the eye wonders across the surface to explore rich details and layers of color, transporting the viewer to Navarro’s realm of colorful expression.

When she paints, Navarro often thinks of the person her work will belong to, she imagines a space, a situation in which the painting will continue to live on, at once expressing and provoking emotional responses. She imagines how the right work can make someone smile, think, breath, even if just for a moment.
With these paintings, Navarro wants to share with us the driving force behind her work, to bare her soul through color, and to touch people’s lives through her art.
Lena Navarro was born and grew up in the Ukraine, and now lives and works in the USA. She has been working as an artists since 2011.
