Lantiq Outsources B2B Integration Communications to Inovis
Inovis Managed Services On-boards Lantiq's 48 Trading Partners In Just Three Months
Guildford, UK - Inovis, a GXS Company, has today announced that Lantiq, a global provider of wireline and leading-edge access and home networking technologies, has successfully outsourced its B2B communications platform to the Inovis Managed Services. By outsourcing to Inovis, Lantiq on-boarded 48 trading partners to a new supply chain communications system within just three months - a time period that was set due to Lantiq's separation from parent company Infineon. Inovis Managed Services has allowed Lantiq to seamlessly migrate to a new B2B communications platform, integrating electronic data interchange between Lantiq's four back-end applications and each trading partner.
Lantiq is a business with limited internal resources yet a large volume of trading partner transactions. The business exchanges supply chain data with 48 trading partners through 158 communication maps. This equates to over 1000 transactions per week. Becoming an independent organisation meant that Lantiq was undergoing a number of major business and IT function changes. Due to the limited resources within the organisation, it was decided that a specialised third-party organisation with expertise in supply chain communication would be required to ensure that the migration and ongoing communications remained stable.
Lantiq required a complete and reliable managed service offering which was capable of meeting the businesses specific requirements within the short time-frame that had been designated. As a best practice measure, Inovis provided a dedicated project group which worked alongside management teams from both Lantiq and Infineon. Through daily calls the team worked closely to ensure the project was completed on time. The project was supported by Inovis' Management Portal, an easy-to-use online tool, which allowed complete 'real time' visibility over each implementation task, including graphical representations of the status, the project plan, risk logger and open issues lists.
"Working to such a strict time-frame meant that we required the support of a dedicated and professional managed service provider that went the extra mile to ensure that the project was delivered on time," said Markus Schuemmelfeder, Vice President and CIO of Lantiq. "We had 48 valuable trading partners which needed to be seamlessly integrated onto the new system. Customer satisfaction is essential to us at Lantiq, so any response or transmission delays during the migration process, or after the project, would have been a major issue. Inovis was able to ensure that the on-boarding process ran smoothly and has since supported the communications platform with 99.995% availability. This has given us confidence that our trading partner data will be communicated around the clock with great efficiency."
"Outsourcing has become increasingly viable for businesses that require dedicated expertise to ensure specific critical business functions are maintained, managed and able to scale up and down by an on-demand resource," said Steve Carroll, implementations manager, EMEA, Inovis. "Inovis Managed Services provides businesses of all sizes with these expertise as well as flexibility. This adaptability ensures that the customers' needs are met today and their ever changing requirements are future proof. Inovis Managed Services is scalable, customer focused and can be tailored to address each businesses individual requirements; therefore creating ideal environment for a potentially long-term partnership."
Inovis provides Lantiq with the ability to exchange data with its suppliers on multiple platforms, using different data format options and transport protocols such as FTP, AS2 or via a Value Added Network (VAN). Through the Inovis Managed Services, Inovis oversees Lantiq's trading relationships with organisations of all sizes, regardless of their technical capabilities. As a growing business, Lantiq is also safe in the knowledge that Inovis has the scope to expand trading partner connections without complexity.
