LAI International is First to Pass Additive Manufacturing Audit en Route to NADCAP Accreditation
Tempe, Arizona, April 19, 2017 (Newswire.com) - LAI International, Inc, a world-class provider of manufacturing solutions to the aerospace, military, energy and medical industries, today announced completion of the audits as a first step to becoming certified by NADCAP in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) process. Next step is for PRI NADCAP to present its audit results before the accreditation board for approval prior to issuance of a certificate. “Our team has been instrumental in advancing AM capabilities around the world, and now being the first company ever to have this EBM NADCAP certification validates all of our team’s hard work has paid off,” stated Patrick J. Late last year, Ed Carey, the Site Leader of the Tempe Site, expressed a desire for his team to attain the certification of NADCAP for his Additive Manufacturing cell, which comprises 2 Electron Beam printers and a Powder Removal System.
The technology insertion has been led by Adam Rivard and Caitlin Oswald along with the site manufacturing engineer, Mathew Lewis, over the last 18 months. They have been developing all process steps from receipt of material and how it is managed through the life cycle to the digital processing of Customer requirements through post processing and inspection of finished goods. The hard work by the team to develop robust processes and then refining the process over the last year has been in preparation for ensuring Customer confidence, when LAI International produces product in this technology space, that the products have just as much integrity as any other subtractive process used at LAI International.
