The author said, ‘Knowing India is about appreciating its diversity. I always have been awestruck by it. I get to capture this, via pictures in this book and present it to all of my readers’.

ABCD, ‘American Born Confused Desi’, refers to the first, second or later generation kids, born in the US to first generation immigrant parents from India. Confused Desi means, the confusion arising due to the lack of knowledge of the Indian culture and traditions. Lalitha said, ’Festivals teach a lot about the culture, traditions and heritage of a country ’. She smilingly added, ‘I have 2 ‘Confused Desi’ kids of my own in my family now and I intend to clear that confusion in them and other ABCDs through this series.’

This series will reveal the fervor, mood and excitement of the 1 billion plus people celebrating each of the Indian festivals.
