Kleinschmidt Associates Receives 2020 EBJ Business Achievement Award for Social Contribution
PITTSFIELD, Maine, February 9, 2021 (Newswire.com) - Environmental Business Journal®* (EBJ), a business research publication which has provided strategic business intelligence to the environmental industry since 1988*, has honored Kleinschmidt Associates with the Social Contribution Award for the philanthropic work performed in 2020.
The Kleinschmidt Fund annually distributes tens of thousands of dollars to organizations supported by its employees. 2020 was an exceptional year for our society, the economy and the renewable energy industry. The employees of Kleinschmidt, through the Philanthropy Committee, responded accordingly by donating more than $90,000, with $75,000 of that funding directed to organizations assisting those who were most impacted by COVID.
To further support local businesses impacted during the pandemic, Kleinschmidt held a virtual client appreciation event where local businesses near the company's office locations were chosen to prepare gift baskets for Kleinschmidt's clients. The gift baskets included Wisconsin Cheese, South Carolina Shrimp & Grits, California Wine, Massachusetts Fudge, Canadian Cider, etc. This accomplished two tasks - it allowed the company to show appreciation to clients for their continued trust and support and help small businesses who were struggling.
"We all had our hands full in 2020 navigating work-from-home, homeschooling, sick friends and relatives, and a divided political landscape. I am so proud that the Kleinschmidt Team insisted on looking beyond just their own needs to consider the interests of others," says Jon Christensen, CEO of Kleinschmidt. "The Team's approach to giving inspired us to look broadly at ways to improve the lives of others, in short, making the world a better place."
The 2020 EBJ awards will be presented at a virtual Zoom ceremony on Feb. 11 and 12, 2021, free to the entire environmental industry community.
