Kind Coffee and the Estes Park Pie Shop & Bakery Announce Plan to Determine the "World's Best Coffee to Serve with Pie"

In a joint venture, between Estes Park's renowned, independently owned, organic coffee roaster and the cafe cousin of the Estes Park Pie Shop and Bakery, the owners of Kind Coffee, LLC. and the Estes Park Pie Shop & Bakery announced their intention

Beginning Friday, January 14 and continuing through Monday, January 17, Kind Coffee, LLc. and the You Need Pie!™ Too Cafe, both located in downtown Estes Park, Colorado, cordially invite all Winter Festival visitors and residents to taste candidate blends of Kind Coffee paired with Estes Park Pie Shop & Bakery Pie and vote which candidate should be announced on February 10, 2011, as 'The World's Best Coffee to Go With Pie!'.

The winning coffee blend will be unveiled at a special luncheon to be held at the You Need Pie!™ Too Cafe on Thursday, February 10, 2011 beginning at 12:30 pm with the winning coffee blend being served up to the public and officially dubbed, 'World's Best Coffee to Go With Pie!' at 2:30 pm M.D.T.

Locally known as the premiere organic coffee roaster and best pie shop / bakery in town, it was only a matter of time before the owners of Kind Coffee and the Estes Park Pie Shop and Bakery would join forces to develop and select the 'World's Best Coffee to Go With Pie!'. Inviting their loyal customers and all Coloradoans to taste and vote on which blend goes best with pie was a natural progression of the business relationship.

"With the capacity to design and blend exclusive and unique fair trade coffees, Kind Coffee seemed like a natural, best fit when it came to fulfilling an idea I've had for a while, serving and selling the best coffee ever blended to go specifically with our amazing pie," said Scooter Thompson, manager of the You Need Pie!™ Too Cafe when asked why he decided to pitch Kind Coffee owner, Amy Hamrick, owner of Kind Coffee, the idea. Hamrick noted, "After working at the Farmer's Market all summer next to Scooter (selling pies), I came to understand the importance and iconic value of 'pie' in this town and across America, and how the Estes Park Pie Company truly embodies this. Kind Coffee works with the local business community throughout the year, and this is a great event to feature locally made products and our Americana."

Over the past two years, the Estes Park Lodging Association has worked hard to build the Estes Park Winter Festival into one of the region's most exciting and fun, winter, family experiences. Timing the voting for the 'World's Best Coffee to Go With Pie!' seemed like a natural thing to do so as to extend the umbrella of voters and capture a larger audience in this important decision-making process.
